You can now use Omicsboard Lab in a web browser. Go to app.omicsboard.com, sign in, and start working with Omi. There is nothing to download or set up.
Who it is for
- macOS users. There is no macOS installer yet. The web version gives you the full workspace on a Mac today.
- Phone and tablet users. The layout is built for small screens, with a Chat view and a Notebook view you switch between.
- Anyone who cannot install software. Locked-down university and hospital computers often block installers. A browser tab is usually allowed.
- People with modest laptops. Your code runs on our cloud servers, so your own device does not need to be powerful.
What you can do
The web version has the same layout as the desktop app: your saved lessons on the left, the conversation with Omi in the middle, and a live Python notebook on the right. Omi writes the code, runs it on a cloud kernel and explains the results. You can attach files, hear Omi's voice, save lessons and reopen them later, and choose Learn, Analyze or Build as you would on the desktop.
How it differs from the desktop app
Where your data goes: in the web version, files you attach are uploaded to our cloud workspace so the notebook can read them. In the desktop app your files stay on your own computer. If your data must never leave your machine, use the desktop app or the Linux build.
- Running code in the cloud notebook is part of the paid plans. A free account can chat with Omi, but running cells needs a subscription.
- Some desktop features are not in the browser yet, and Omi cannot read pages open in the browser's side panel. We are closing these gaps.
